Threads
One piece of work that keeps going: a chat, the files it touches, the agents working on it, a terminal, and Checkpoints you can return to.
A Thread keeps going for as long as the work does. You open it, watch, redirect, stop, retry or leave it at any point, and finishing is just its last state. Nothing has to be done in one sitting, and nothing is lost between sittings.
Several agents in one Thread
A Thread can have a coordinating Agent and as many working Agents as the job needs. Each Agent chooses its own harness and model, so Claude Code and Codex can work on the same task at the same time, on the same files and branch, and they need not even be on the same Computer. What one agent did is in the Thread for the next one.
Checkpoints
A Checkpoint names one exact position in the Thread and one Git commit, with a label such as “Authentication flow verified.” Compare its files with now, or fork a new Thread from it while this one continues. The fork starts from that state and that Git content, with no agents running.
Files, terminal and source control
Every Thread has the same tools beside its chat: Files, Source Control, an Inspector that shows what the agents are doing and holding, and a Terminal that survives a reload. The files and the terminal are the real thing on your Computer, not a copy, so you can always see what actually happened.
Files open in a full editor with your project's own language servers behind it: completion, signatures, diagnostics, search and Vim mode. The daemon installs that tooling on first use, in its own folder, and runs it inside the selected project, so completion knows your types and none of it touches your global toolchains.
The daemon owns the document, so the browser, Git, your tools, the agents and the language servers all join the same one. Your edits survive reconnects, and an agent's change on disk is merged into the buffer you have open instead of replacing it underneath you. An edit in the editor is a change to the working tree: not a Checkpoint, and not something the Thread has verified.
